The Right Way To Wash Your Hair By Tracy Baranowski

The Right Way To Wash Your Hair
By Tracy Baranowski

We have all been washing our hair all our lives, but you could be doing it the wrong way and causing damage without knowing!

First, brush out tangle before you wet the hair. Then wet the hair with warm water to open up the cuticle of the hair. When applying shampoo, apply to your scalp only, not to the ends as this can dry out the hair. It may even cause it to split and break. Use gentle strokes to keep the hair from re-tangling. Rinse hair and shampoo a second time.

To remove excess water off your hair squeeze hair without pulling or tugging. Hair is the most delicate when it is soaked. When water is removed apply a dollop of conditioner along the hairline and pull through the ends. Allow the conditioner to stay on for 10 minutes and then rinse. Rinse with cold water to close the cuticle and add shine to the hair.
